Precision Ball Screw

The precision ball screw is a mechanical linear actuator to translate rotational motion to linear motion, and vice versa. In the ball screw assembly, balls with free motion convert force into motion between the screw and nut. In contrast to the conventional lead screw, our precision ball screw has minimum rolling friction instead of sliding friction. Low friction yields high mechanical efficiency. In fact, the transmission efficiency could be as high as 90%. The precision ball screw has 1/3 driving torque of sliding screw, which contributes to low heat release, causing low temperature rise. To eliminate axial clearance the ball screw is preloaded during processing. This, coupled low heat release, results in our ball screw offering high positioning accuracy and repeatability. Due to smooth running, axial clearance elimination, and consistency in manufacture, several sets of our precision ball screws can drive the same unit or several identical parts to obtain the good synchronization.
